I paint with hot wax called encaustic. It is a very old technique, the earliest examples from 37 AD, however I used it in a much more contemporary way, using many layers. I strive to have my work feel calm for the viewer yet interesting and contemplative.  A dance between deliberate and spontaneous, the head and the heart, all the while paying heed to a minimalist aesthetic with a lot of patina.
